I know this car! It's painted different now because of sponsers but it's currently the fastest 1/4 mile RX-7 in Colorado. Mike B is the owner (the guy holding the camera) of it and that isn't a "flame Kit" it's launch control.

The ECM or the Electonic Control Module, otherwise known as the computer tells the coil to fire the spark plug, the intake valve opens and allows the air to come into the combustion chamber, before the intake valve can close the spark plug fires and ignites the fuel that has been sprayed into the chamber and the explosions backs up into the intake manifold and comes out the throttle body and causes a backfire. But its the fact that it runs too rich that makes the exhaust catch in flames..
